In this episode of HBCU Corner, Wole and Ray sit down with Alabama A&M University (AAMU) Women’s Basketball Head Coach Dawn Thornton to discuss a historic season for the Lady Bulldogs.
Coach Thornton reflects on leading Alabama A&M to its first SWAC regular-season championship, a major milestone that established the program as one of the top teams in the conference. The Lady Bulldogs earned the No. 1 seed in the SWAC Tournament after a dominant season highlighted by an impressive winning streak and multiple program achievements.
Despite the success, Coach Thornton also addresses the team’s tough semifinal exit in the SWAC Tournament, offering insight into what happened and how the program plans to grow from the experience.
