William Zepeda defeated Lamont Roach Jr. by unanimous decision to become the new WBC lightweight champion in Las Vegas.

On another edition of Going to the Body with the Urban Sports Scene, Wole and Ray recap Zepeda’s impressive championship victory over Roach. Ray was in Las Vegas covering the fight and provides his firsthand ringside analysis of the action.

Wole and Ray break down how Zepeda’s relentless pressure, high-volume attack, body punching and improved footwork helped him control the 12-round fight. They also discuss Roach’s early success, why he struggled to establish his counterpunching and how Zepeda surprised him by stepping back, creating angles and fighting with more versatility than expected.

The judges scored the fight 118–110, 117–111 and 117–111, all for William Zepeda.
