Archbishop Carroll High School head boys basketball coach Malcolm Battle joins Ray Rogers of the Urban Sports Scene to discuss leading one of the DMV’s most respected high school basketball programs in the ultra-competitive Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC).

Coach Battle opens up about his inspiring journey through adversity, his passion for mentoring young athletes, and how he’s helping restore Archbishop Carroll’s basketball tradition in Washington, D.C. A former Carroll alum, Battle has quickly earned respect across the DMV basketball scene for his leadership, culture-building, and player development.

The conversation also highlights the emergence of rising star Anthony Brown Jr., one of the top guards in the nation and a major reason Archbishop Carroll continues to rise in the national high school basketball landscape. Brown has become one of the WCAC’s elite scorers while helping bring renewed energy to the Lions basketball program.
