The 2026 NBA Finals are underway, and the New York Knicks struck first with a huge 105-95 comeback victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1!
Join Wole and Ray as they break down everything from Game 1 of the NBA Finals and preview what could happen for the remainder of this exciting Knicks vs. Spurs championship series.
The Knicks overcame a 14-point second-half deficit behind the clutch play of Jalen Brunson, who scored 30 points and took over in the fourth quarter. Karl-Anthony Towns delivered a double-double, while New York dominated the hustle categories and capitalized on second-chance opportunities to steal home-court advantage from San Antonio. Brunson’s fourth-quarter heroics helped fuel an 11-0 closing run that secured the Game 1 win.
Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama finished with an impressive stat line, but the Spurs struggled with turnovers, execution, and shot-making late in the game as New York’s defense tightened in crunch time. The series now heads to a pivotal Game 2 with San Antonio looking to avoid falling into a 0-2 hole before the Finals shift to Madison Square Garden.
