The Washington Commanders opened the 2026 preseason with a 20-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins, and we’re breaking down everything that stood out from Washington’s first game action of the year.
Felix Trammell, Washington Commanders reporter for Fox Sports Radio 1340 AM & 96.9 FM in Hopewell, Virginia, joins Wole on the Urban Sports Scene podcast to recap the Commanders’ preseason-opening win.
Felix was at the game covering Washington and brings his firsthand perspective from Northwest Stadium, including observations from the locker room, postgame press conferences and everything he saw from the Commanders on the field.
Washington rested more than two dozen key contributors, giving younger players and roster hopefuls an important opportunity to make their case. After allowing Miami to score on its opening possession, the Commanders’ defense settled in and kept the Dolphins scoreless for the rest of the game. Washington also created three interceptions, with Quan Martin, Ale Kaho and Malik Spencer helping generate turnovers and favorable field position. (Washington Commanders)
