The Washington Commanders earned their first win of the 2026 season with a dramatic 33-31 victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks at Northwest Stadium.

Fox Sports Radio 96.9 FM & 1340 AM Hopewell, VA’s Commanders reporter Felix Trammell joins Wole on the Urban Sports Scene podcast after covering the game in person to break down Washington’s biggest plays, turning points and takeaways.

With Jayden Daniels sidelined, Marcus Mariota stepped up, completing 19 of 31 passes for 183 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Terry McLaurin finished with six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown, while Washington’s defense forced three turnovers.

Washington’s takeaways proved decisive, including Medrano’s fourth-quarter interception return for a touchdown. The Commanders then sealed the victory with clutch late-game runs from White and Mariota, ending Seattle’s 12-game winning streak and improving Washington to 1-2.
